يتصدى هذا البحث لمقاربة موضوع ينفتح على مجالات و حقول أدبية متعددة ، فهو يرصد أحد مجالات الأدب المقارن " سرد الرحلات " ، و هو أدب مهجن ، ومدوَنة أدبية تشترك في دراستها معظم الحقول المعرفية ، التاريخ ، و الجغرافية ، و الأنثروبولوجيا ، إلخ ، و لم يلق الحظ الوفير من الدراسة النقدية ، التي تهدف إلى استخلاص أدبية هذا النص ، و قد تبيَن من خلال هذه الدراسة ، أن هذا النص يمتلك مكونات بنيوية تستند إلى الأدب السردي ؛ و ما يثبت ذلك هو حضور مكونات النص السردي فيه ، المتمثلة في ( الخطاب ، و القصة) ، و هو ما دعا إلى مقاربة سيميائية الوصف في خطابه – الجانب الثاني من الدراسة - فالوصف من عناصر الخطاب السردي الذي لم يلق حظه من الدراسة النقدية إلا مؤخرا ، و قد أثبت المنهج السيميائي فاعليته الإجرائية في استخلاص الوظائف الفنية و الدلالية التي يقوم بها الخطاب الواصف في النص السردي ، و صنف الوصف عبره على أنه من المكونات السردية المهمة التي تعين الناقد على مقاربة النص ، و تشييد دلالة حوله . والجانب المهم في هذه الدراسة الذي نشئت لغايته، هو إخضاعها في ضمن الأدب المقارن.

This study explores the particularities of teaching English to adult learners. It looks at whether adult learners’ comprehension of lessons is slowed down by factors of teaching style orclassroom settings. The study uses a questionnaire to collect views of adult learners from the Libyan context. The questionnaire that contains 37 statements measures different aspects of teaching English. It was delivered online using Google Forms. Those aspects include teaching style, preferences of correcting mistakes, willingness of cooperation among adult learners, self-dependenceand self-confidenceof learners, and preferred techniques to learninggrammar and vocabulary. This study also offers a remedial method that is inferred from the experience of the researchers and supported by the results of the data. The results show that adult learners have differentperception towards acquiring a foreign language. They agree that they need to better theirlearning input. The suggested remedial process could be an answer to their needs.

Machine translation tools are widely used by companies. The tools are on an increasing demand. Translators need to equip themselves with the knowledge and the mastering of these tools. This study explores two machine translation tools involved in website localization. These tools are Alchemy Catalyst and Trados Tageditor. The study adopts an evaluative methodology to shed light on the intricacies and technicalities of these two localization tools. It discusses some of the cultural issues that localizers come across in the process of localization. In addition, it delves into the technical issues, mainly focusing on localizing into Arabic with a special focus on string, text, lexis, and orthography. The study concludes that the process of localization requires teamwork and involvement of computer engineers, and both localization tools are valuable in achieving a localization task.
