Enhanced Still 3D Integral Images Rendering Based on Multiprocessor Ray Tracing System

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce 3D integral imaging interpolation method, to overcome the 3D missing information problem occurred between cylindrical lenses (micro-images) due to occluded areas in the previous cylindrical lens, new cylindrical lens shows an area, to generate one single photo-realistic 3D integral imaging frame. The method is based on a Multiprocessor ray-tracer containing 3D integral imaging parser, 3D integral camera model, a 3D integral imaging renderer, spatial coherence and 3D scene transformations. Consequently, an increase in speed in the generation of still 3D integral image is achieved compared to fully ray tracing time of missing pixels. Experiments show that a significant reduction in execution time is achieved by using the 3D integral interpolation process. Savings up to (57%-66%) in the ray tracing time when compared to fully ray tracing the missing pixels depends on the complexity of the scene. 

biometrics:standing throughout emerging technologies

Biometrics technologies have been around for quite some time and many have been deployed for different applications all around the world, ranging from small companies' time and attendance systems to access control systems for nuclear facilities. Biometrics offer a reliable solution for the establishment of the distinctiveness of identity based on "who an individual is", rather than what he or she knows or carries. Biometric Systems automatically verify a person's identity based on his/her anatomical and behavioral characteristics. Biometric traits represent a strong and undeviating link between a person and his/her identity, these traits cannot be easily lost or forgotten or faked, since biometric systems require the user to be present at the time of authentication. Some biometric systems are more reliable than others, yet they are neither secure nor accurate, all biometrics have their strengths and weaknesses. Although some of these systems have shown reliability and solidarity, work still has to be done to improve the quality of service they provide. Presented is the available standing biometric systems showing their strengths and weaknesses and also emerging technologies which may have great benefits for security applications in the near future.

New 3D Integral Imaging Camera Viewing Parameters

3D Holoscopic imaging (also known as Integral imaging) is a technique that is capable of creating and encoding a true volume spatial optical model of the object scene in the form of a planar intensity distribution by using unique optical components. It is akin to holography in that 3D information recorded on a 2D medium can be replayed as a full 3D optical model, Typically, moving from cylindrical lens to the next cylindrical lens is carried out knowing the lens width, Lw, which defines the translation of the camera along the x optical axis and hence the position of the new camera cylindrical lens. This new renderer is represented in the paper by the term integral ray tracing (IRT). In this paper, a method of generation 3D integral images camera file parameters is proposed. The camera file is an important part of the process of generating micro-images and set up the camera position. The method is mainly based on Parallel Multiprocessor Ray Tracing System adapted "Tachyon" as renderer. Experimental results show validation of the new algorithm and the lenticular lens can be set up and tested on small-balls, gears, room, tree and teapot scenes.
