Capturing Variants of Transliterated Arabic Names in English Text

Transliteration is the process of representing words of one language into another using corresponding equivalent phonemes. For example, “Mohammed”, “Mohammad”, or “Muhammed” are three valid transliterations to the Arabic proper noun “محمد”. Transliteration from Arabic to English usually results in several different versions for the same Arabic name causing some names to have more than 40 different versions. Finding transliterated names is a problem in most languages. In English, this problem has been studied by researchers and many techniques have been developed to find transliterated names referring to the same foreign name. Techniques such as string matching and phonetic matching have been used to find similar names. However, some of these techniques were designed to find similar names of English origin and not a specific transliterated names. In this paper we review current techniques used to find variants of the same name and introduce a new technique we specifically developed to find transliterated Arabic names in English text. We developed a data set of more than 25,000 transliterated Arabic names and tested the effectiveness of current and the new technique on finding 115 names within that list. Our results show that our technique is superior to all other techniques. We also present an online system that we developed to find transliterated Arabic names on the web using our technique. arabic 8 English 57

Vulnerabilities of Biometric Authentication “Threats and Countermeasures”

Biometric systems have a powerful potential to provide security for a variety of applications, systems are nowadays being introduced in many applications and have already been deployed to protect personal computers, Banking machines, credit cards, electronic transactions, airports, high security institutions like nuclear facilities, Military Bases and other applications like borders control, access control, sensitive data protection and on-line tracking systems. While biometrics may improve security in different environments and serve many purposes, biometric systems, like any other security system, have vulnerabilities and are susceptible to threats. they are susceptible to external vulnerabilities of biometric systems so that their weaknesses can be found and useful countermeasures against foreseeable attacks can be developed The increasingly high profile use of biometrics for security purposes has provoked new interest in researching and exploring methods of attacking biometric systems.

New 3D Holoscopic Images Content Format

3D Holoscopic imaging (also referred to as Integral Imaging) is a technique for creating full colour 3D optical models that exist in space independently of the viewer. In this paper, the main objective is to provide new file formats as raw material for full parallax computer generated 3D Holoscopic content, based mainly on Adapted Multiprocessor Ray Tracing System, displayed on auto-stereoscopic. The most important is being 3D model file format as there are many 3D modelling application available in the market and support different file formats. Therefore a file formats (scene description file) are developed for an Adapted Multiprocessor Ray Tracing System "Tachyon" (AMRTST) and for Ac3D computer graphics software package as well; the new file formats are created by uses 3D unidirectional camera parameters. Experimental results show validation of the new algorithm (AMRTST) and for the first time a 3D content of file formats are developed, and tests on an adapted Multiprocessor ray tracing system and on Ac3D package some scenes are tested such as teapot, car, roses and human-body.
