Rudwan Husain is the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology. Dr. Husain teaches several subjects in his major and has several publications in the field of his interest such as complex systems modelling, image processing, geospatial applications, and software engineering.
Careers
In 2013 Dr. Rudwan Husain worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology, then as an assistant professor in 2015, he was promoted to an associate professor since September 2019. Dr. Rudwan worked as the head of the Software Engineering Department since his appointment at the Faculty of IT until the end of the academic year 2016-2017, then he was appointed as the director of the Faculty Staff Affairs Office in 2021, and now he holds the position of Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs.
Research Interests
Dr. Rudwan Husain is interested in scientific research in the fields of artificial intelligence and modeling of complex systems. Dr. Rudwan has publications in the digital image processing, and data science.
External Activities
Dr. Rudwan Husain has external activities through which he seeks to serve the local and international community to benefit from his experiences, and to enrich his expertise. The doctor is a member of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) and the Cluster Munitions Coalition (CMC). Dr. Rudwan is a member of the Stop Killing Robots Campaign, a founding member of the Libyan Society for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, and founder of the Tibyan Organization for Artificial Intelligence. Rudwan participates in conferences and workshops concerned with data science and the dissemination of modern technology.
